About Mwanaasha Johari
Mwanaasha Johari, known for her role as Sultana in the local TV series, was born in Tanga, Tanzania, and became an orphan at seven months old when she lost her parents. Raised in Msambweni, Kwale county, by her aunt and uncle, she later joined Furah Girls Orphanage due to her relatives’ financial struggles. Despite her challenging background, Mwanaasha rose to fame as a Kenyan entertainer, model, and actor.
Being the main character of the Citizen TV series “Sultana,” Mwanaasha Johari gained popularity in the Kenyan TV industry. Prior to her role in “Sultana,” she wasn’t widely known. Seizing the opportunity as a rising star, she advanced in her acting career.
In the TV series “Sultana,” which premiered on 7th March 2022, Mwanaasha Johari portrays the main character, Sultana. The show replaced “Zora” and revolves around a young woman raised in wealth but forced to confront poverty and challenges after being separated from her real parents. The storyline unfolds as Sultana’s stepmother switches her with a baby boy, attempting to avoid shame in the family due to her birth being a girl, fulfilling her father’s desire for a son.
