Kikuyu or Gikuyu is a Bantu language spoken by the Gikuyu (Agikuyu) of Kenya. The language, represented as Gĩkũyũ [ɣēkōjó], is primarily spoken in the region encompassing Nyeri, Nairobi, and Nakuru. The Kikuyu people, who are the primary speakers of this language, often define their territories with reference to the surrounding mountain ranges in Central Kenya. Above 7 million people in Kenya speak Kikuyu.
